The two areas of my work (private practice and academia) inform each other. My work is also informed by my own research into the psychology of leadership, where I explored how embedded core beliefs can influence patterns of leadership style.
Prior to becoming a coach and psychologist I worked in the IT industry for over 15 years as a technical trainer and consultant. During this time I worked for some pretty terrible managers, sparking my interest in leadership development!
I am Dr Vicky Ellam-Dyson (PhD), a chartered psychologist and registered coaching psychologist. As a coaching psychology practitioner and academic I have the privilege to work as a coach, trainer, lecturer and research supervisor. As a coach and trainer I work with leaders and teams and am involved in leadership and team development in both public and private sectors. As an academic I am an associate lecturer and research supervisor at City University and at the Institute of Management Studies at Goldsmiths College, in the topics of coaching psychology and organisational psychology.
"The use of psychology in coaching and training offers real value in adapting behaviours to be more positive and enable successful sustainable outcomes"
